V08 was the Arabic language counterpart numbers station of E09. Like E09, the schedule was erratic and had a poor AM signal. Originally this station used Eastern styled music as an interval, normally (like E25) music by Umm Kultum. Later in its existence it caused some confusion by switching to E09’s signature Magnetic Fields instead of its usual Arabian style. The music chosen relates to the schedule it’s transmitting on.
After one of it’s Saturday transmissions in 1998, the station was observed with a strong broadcast sending more audio in Arabic. This suggests the transmitter could have been used for more broadcast purposes at other times.
