Walter Schellenberg

Walter Friedrich Schellenberg (1910 – 1952) was a German SS-Brigadeführer who rose through the ranks of the SS, becoming one of the highest ranking men in the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) and eventually assumed the position as head of foreign intelligence for the Reich following the abolition of the Abwehr in 1944. After the war he was put on trial by Nuremberg tribunal and sentenced, later released few years before his death in exile in Italy.
