G12 and the other NNN format number stations are a network determined to have been run by the Austrian Army Intelligence Office (HNA). This station was first spotted on April 23rd, 1984 on 4031 kHz at 03:00 UTC. There were a few different automated voices it used, and one of them was able to determine that the station was run by the HNA.
One of the alternate voices distinctly sounded like Austrian German. Before Peter H from Germany and Pango in Australia wrote to Simon Mason, the voice was possibly thought to be Yiddish.
