What is V32?
V32 is a designation given to a numbers station like signal that has appeared in February 2026 and has been associated with the US, Israel and Iran war that has started around the same time. It has been claimed that the signal first appeared on 7910 kHz on February 26, the same time the United States and Israel started operation “Epic Fury” against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It has been confirmed by Persian (Farsi) speakers that the signal indeed broadcasts strings of numbers in Persian language. The signal has been observed at 7910 kHz at 1800 and 0200 UTC. On March 7 1800 UTC it was heard on 7842 kHz. Judging by the remote SDR reception reports the signal has been particularly strong in the Middle East, Greece and Cyprus. While being much more weaker in Western Europe. The V32 transmission opens with a male voice — possibly synthetic or pre-recorded — saying “Tavajoh! Tavajoh! meaning Attention! Attention!” It has been reported by a radio amateur: “The periodic dual tone beeps you are hearing is the PT override warning tone active on most new L3/Harris radios, it is automatically injected in the audio path for both RX and TX as a warning that you are operating in plain text while the radio preset is configured for cypher text. This means that V32 is using a Harris Falcon III or II HF radio and didn’t even bother to configure it correctly. So that’s an AN/PRC-160 or 150. Or the none CCI versions of either, that’s the RF-7800 or 5400.”
Speculations of the V32 origin
The origin of the station is currently under strong speculation. One theory suggests it could be run by Islamic Republic Iran, in a result of a communication issues or breakdown as result of US and Israeli attacks. Islamic Republic of Iran Intelligence Ministry, or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps may use this method of communication to their agents in the Middle Eastern region. If this the case, then the broadcast may come from one of the shortwave transmitters within Iran, maybe be even transmitters used by the Voice of the Islamic Republic Iran (IRIB) that uses shortwave for international broadcasts. In such case the activity of this station might not be very long, because of ever changing military, political activity. Second theory suggests a outside Iranian source. What speaks most on behalf of this theory is a report that 03-05-2026 2:00 UTC the station was observed to be jammed it was also observed by the author on 07-05-2026. The jammer noise sounded like bubbles, which resembles the “bubble jammer” that has been reported to be used by Islamic Republic Iran for years. If this jammer was used against this specific frequency, in the specific particular time it could mean, that Islamic Iran security considers this station a threat. Third less likely version is a radio pirate activity, which could be less likely, because of its consistent schedule and technical details mentioned above, also that it had been jammed.
