Digital Mode Number Stations

Digital number stations are becoming a more popular method in sending messages.  It’s more efficient than a typical voice station since it takes less time to transmit the message and receive it.  Digital stations are some of the most unique ways that spy agencies send encrypted messages through shortwave radio.

X06 – Mazielka

X06 is a Russian diplomatic selective call system.  Also referred to as MFSK-6.  This station usually transmits before scheduled Russian numbers stations.
